CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have released video in the 2017 shooting of a man who was holding a pregnant woman hostage when they responded to a breaking and entering call.

Back in September, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers say they arrived at a home on Holley Street just after 10 p.m. and that’s when Jonathan Autry ran out of the home with a pregnant woman, holding her hostage at gunpoint. Officers then fired several shots at Autry. He was transported to a hospital and later released.

The pregnant woman was not injured, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The relationship between the woman and the suspect is not mentioned in the release from the department.

The district attorney found that the officers involved acted lawfullly.
