SALISBURY, N.C. -- A Rowan County man is accused of sexually assaulting a 63-year-old woman.

The sheriff's office says 48-year-old Jody Hall raped the woman on St. Peters Church Road in Salisbury early Sunday morning after giving her a ride on his moped to pick up her car.

They say he threatened and physically assaulted the victim, then made her accompany him to a location on St. Peters Church Road where he raped her then took her home.

She called law enforcement shortly after.

Hall is charged with first degree rape and kidnapping. He was arrested and placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond.
