MCDADE, Texas — The Renaissance returned to Central Texas with the 9th annual Sherwood Forest Faire in McDade, Texas.

The fair takes people back to medieval times with costumes, games and music to enjoy.

Bringing Medieval times to life, fairgoers are encouraged to dress and act like the Middle Ages during their stay. The kids spent their day looking for Robin Hood, playing games of old or watching magic shows.

Parents can grab a drink at their favorite pub or catch an exhilarating jousting match or concert. Attendees say that visiting this fair gives them a chance to be free.

"We are so like stuck in this thing, dress this way, act this way, talk this way," said Flutter, a local fairy in the Sherwood Forest.

The fair will continue every weekend until April 22. People are encouraged to camp for the weekend to get everything the fair has to offer.

Day passes are also available on the website, sherwoodforestfaire.com.
