MORGANTON, N.C. – Tuesday, Christopher Ogilvie was wheeled into the magistrates office to face charges for an fatal accident that he said he didn’t remember happening.

The crash that killed 53-year-old Lisa Kirby happened on March 13. Troopers said Ogilvie was driving down Highway 70 near Glen Alpine in a pick-up truck when he crossed the yellow line hitting Kirby's car and causing her to flip over.

“I don’t even know what's going on right now,” Ogilvie said inside the courtroom. “I'm deeply sorry for all this. I truly am. I had no intentions of hurting anybody.”

Ogilvie is facing multiple charges including misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, DWI and driving while license revoked.

“I remember getting in the car. I had been up the night before helping this girl I was with. Her grandson was sick and she was sick so I was up all night but I don't remember being in Morganton. I don’t remember being in the accident. I don't remember anything,” he said.

Ogilvie shouldn’t have been driving at all that day. His license was suspended following a high-speed chase in Mcdowell County. However, he sat in the office claiming he didn’t remember anything.

“I don't drive. I know the girl was with me that night, but she said no I was the only one in the car,” he said.

Troopers said they are awaiting the blood test results to determine if his charges will be upgraded.
