YORK COUNTY, S.C. -- The man accused of ambushing four York County law officers and killing one of them in January during a domestic violence call is out of the hospital.

Authorities say 47-year-old Christian McCall wounded deputies Buddy Brown and Randy Clinton and York County Police Officer Kyle Cummings. Detective Mike Doty was killed.

McCall's family released a statement, saying their hearts have ached for the officers and their families and that the shooting was out of character for McCall.

He's charged with murder and attempted murder. He is in CMPD custody and an extradition hearing will be held Friday.
