CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced a major takedown this week of the Bloods Gang.

83 members were arrested last May and this week U.S. Attorney Andrew Murray said 35 of them have entered guilty pleas.

The members pleaded guilty to everything from drug trafficking to firearm possession to racketeering conspiracy.

"I expect that we prevented a lot of crime from occurring, from violent crime to white collar crime. Gangs, they run the gamut from what they do to earn money," Murray said.

The 35 members who pleaded guilty are in federal custody and are awaiting sentencing.

The other members arrested, last year, are also in federal custody.
