ROCKWELL, N.C. -- Tiger World in Rowan County has added three lion cubs to their pride.

At just twelve weeks old, all three have a very important destiny..

Tiger World experts say there are only about 50 Timbavati lions left in the wild, and those are only alive thanks to conservation efforts.

These three healthy cubs will continue to further the species right here in North Carolina.

“The fact that we have their cubs and we will continue that lineage and be able to continue that education and conservation it’s just such a unique and amazing opportunity,” says Tiger World Wildlife Director Erin Carey.

Since the lion cubs are still young, they can't be out in cold weather.

Carey says if you're planning a visit to Tiger World, make sure to call ahead, to see if it's a good day to see the cubs.
