WAKE FOREST, N.C. -- Hannah Viall, 15, died Saturday night after being in a car crash on Heritage Hills way near Vodin Street in Wake Forest.

Police say the single-car crash occurred around 9 p.m.

Two other 15 year olds were transported from the scene with unknown injuries.

A memorial to Viall developed at the scene of the crash.

Viall was a student at nearby Heritage High School, and many of her classmates visited the memorial to leave flowers and try to process what happened.

"People were texting me and saying 'something happened, someone was killed,'" said Ben Lieberman, a classmate of Viall's. "I kind of made sense of it...I saw the car crash but I didn't realize anyone had died."

It is still unclear what caused the crash.

Viall's father spoke to Spectrum News Monday morning. He's thankful for the outpouring of support that has come in from the community during this tragic time

Grief counselors were at Heritage High School to help students and faculty.

A visitation for Viall will be held on Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.

A church service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.
