Located in the old Buffalo China factory is the new home of the Buffalo Curling Club.

"Where we're standing now, this whole room used to be where the 200 foot kiln was for Buffalo China,"  said Buffalo Curling Club President, Danielle Buchbinder. "So we've gone from the hottest place with a 200 foot kiln to obviously a pretty cool place now."

About four years ago the club was formed, bringing people's love for the sport back to the Queen City.

The club held an open house and anyone who wanted to try the sport could for just five dollars.

"I thought it was incredible to actually get to participate in something like this and see it first hand. I think a lot of people can do this as a fun activity," said John Parsons of Kenmore.

But there's more to joining the Buffalo Curling Club than just the sport. For many, it's something to do in the winter and a good way to socialize.

"Having a reason to be excited about the winter and getting out and enjoying it, it's social, the people here are absolutely fantastic. It's a great sport you're competitive but you're always friendly and meeting great people," said James Ricci, a board member of the club.

After the open house, there was some potential new members.

"It seems like there's a lot of community involved with the folks that are here already that are trying to encourage more membership, I think I would join a club like this," said Parsons.
