After a chilly day Tuesday, where highs only topped off in the 40s, temperatures will make a fast rebound Wednesday and continue to warm quickly through the end of the work week, making for a warm weather pattern that will persist into at least early next week.

High pressure scooting to the south Wednesday will push winds back to the southwest, allowing temperatures to soar into the 60s by Wednesday afternoon across the Piedmont with 50s on tap for the mountains. While we'll stay dry under mostly cloudy skies for the majority of the day, increasing moisture across the mountains will allow for showers across the High Country Wednesday into the overnight hours.

Thursday and Friday will be the warmest days of the week, with temperatures expected to reach into the low to mid 70s. Despite the cloudiness, Friday's warmth will likely reach, or potentially break, records here in Charlotte. Call it the "warm before the storm"! A cold front approaching from the northwest late Friday will bring rain back to the region Friday night into Saturday along with a cool down to start off the weekend.
