While the week has been young, the temperature swings have been plentiful and will likely continue on that road.

The cool wedge will linger through tonight. While clouds will be in abundance for most of the time, it appears, we may have several hours with partly cloudy skies early Wednesday morning.

Rain chance will ramp up as the winds veer and the wedge scours out. Rain is more likely North, and Northwest, of the metro Wednesday evening; hello mountain counties.  Temperatures will top out near 60 across the Piedmont with mountain counties in the mid 50s.

The chance for rain Thursday looks rather small, if anything. Temperatures will make a solid run for the mid 70s in the Charlotte region; mid/upper 60s in the mountains.
