CHARLOTTE -- It's developed a cult following, and you'll start seeing a lot of it in the Olympics next week.

Charlotte is one of the few southern cities home to a curling facility.

The Charlotte Curling Association started during the 2010 winter Olympics and just a few years ago it opened its own location.

"It's fun to watch. It's easier to understand, and the more you understand about it the more you appreciate it," said Charlotte Curling Association President Steve McKee.

The Charlotte Curling Association is always open for new people to try the sport.

It's also holding a number of Olympic viewing parties this month.
