ROWAN COUNTY -- About one week ago, the gruesome details of abuse were released in Erica Parsons' autopsy, and those who knew her are still fighting for justice.

Her biological sister, Brittany Cline, says her sister's story of abuse is still hard to believe. But she says she is reminded of her sister's tragic story every day and won't stop fighting until her adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, pay for what they did to Erica.

"A big part of me wants them to get the death sentence. But another part of me wants them to have to look at me and tell me why,” said Brittany Cline, Erica's biological sister.

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office released a statement on Tuesday saying they expect charges against Casey and Sandy Parsons to be forthcoming, following a separate murder trial that is ongoing in Rowan County at this time.

Her adoptive parents Casey and Sandy Parsons are both in federal prison serving fraud sentences at this time.
