SHALLOTTE, N.C. -- A wanted Brunswick County man is now in custody.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old James Pugh was arrested Tuesday morning.

Authorities say he violated a restraining order, tried to break into a woman's home in Shallotte Sunday night and assaulted and attempted to kidnap her.         

Pugh is charged with first degree burglary and second degree kidnapping.

He's being held in the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
