MAXTON, N.C. -- A Robeson County family is going through a nightmare this week after two of their sons were found dead after going out on a hunting trip.

On Monday morning Lyn Bullard, 22, was found shot to death near a pond in Robeson County. A short while later the body of his brother, Dakota Owens, 9, was found in burned truck near Lakewood Drive

And the Robeson County Sheriff's Office has charged the man who went with them on that trip, Walter Locklear, 27, with their murders.

In an exclusive interview with Spectrum News, Annette Bullard, the boys' mother, says she doesn't understand why this happened to her boys. And she would like some answers.

"They was good kids," said Bullard. "They didn't bother anybody. They got along with everybody....didn't meet no stranger. And they enjoyed hunting and fishing."

Locklear is expected back in court on Jan. 31.
