CHARLOTTE -- Two Charlotte city councilmen are producing a post-meeting podcast to connect more people to city politics.
During each episode, Democrat Larken Egleston and Republican Tariq Bokhari say they'll recap the meeting and bring on guests.
They'll also debate issues and explain why and how they came to decision.
“When you explain your vote and you stand behind it, people, even when they disagree with you, will forgive you and respect you more,” said Egleston.
Bokhari hopes this new podcast will get more millennials involved with city government.
“What better way to engage them then talking about in layman's terms about why we voted certain ways,” he said.
