As high pressure slides east of North Carolina temperatures will warm up and a few showers will move in later in the day on Tuesday. Look for a weak cold front to be moving west to east across the southeast on Wednesday morning for the big holiday travel day.
Good news is the front will be moisture-starved and rain will not be an issue for anyone traveling through the Piedmont. For Thanksgiving we can expect a cooler day with highs barely making it into the 50s. Then, another warm up is in store heading into the weekend with plenty of sunshine as we reach the 60s.
