RALEIGH -- The hashtag #MeAt14  has gone viral and it all started right here in the Triangle.

Attorney Catherine Lawson posted a photograph of herself at age 14 on Twitter in reaction to the allegations Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is facing regarding sexual advances on a 14-year-old girl.

Over the weekend, the tweet garnered responses from celebrities as well as people sharing personal stories of struggle.

Lawson, a lawyer at Parker Poe in Raleigh, says this issue of consent should not be politicized.

"Remember that this is a line we can't cross, that there's nothing that justifies this kind of predatory behavior and there are values that are not exchanged for political gain," Lawson says.

Moore continues to deny the allegations and has threated to sue the Washington Post who published the initial report.

Lawson, who is a registered Republican, says she is glad she posted the hashtag, even with all of the attention.
