After a warm start to the month of November, cooler air returns for the end of this week.

Tuesday will bring another day of mild temperatures along with a chance for scattered showers.

A wave of low pressure developing across the Tennessee River Valley will begin to work its way westward along a frontal boundary draped across the mid-section of North Carolina.

Showers will spread from northwest to southeast today, first pushing through the mountains and eventually making their way into the southern Piedmont and Charlotte metro area by this evening.

Temperatures will, once again, be on the warmer side today, with many likely breaking into the 70s near the North Carolina - South Carolina border.

Heading into early Wednesday morning, the front will continue to move southward, shifting winds back to the north and pulling cold air into the region, making for a raw, damp day on Wednesday.

Many will likely reach the daytime high early on in the day as cold air continues to seep in Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will only reach into upper 40s to low 50s and be coupled with cloud cover and spotty, light showers.

Chances for rain along with cloud cover will begin dwindling late Thursday but the cool air will stay well in place, with highs expected to remain in the 50s to low 60s through the weekend.
