A mild afternoon is on tap for the Piedmont with upper 60s and low 70s in the forecast. It will be quite mild tonight with lows in the mid to upper 50s to near 60 for some spots.

Then, we make a run for 80 degrees in the Charlotte metro area tomorrow ahead of a cold front that will stall over the Carolinas by midweek. Waves of low pressure will move along the cold front providing rainfall for a good chunk of the southeast through Thursday.

Although rain totals won't be high, we could still see more than 1 inch by the time the rain stops late Thursday with a clear sky for the end of the workweek. Next weekend will start out mild and dry, but another storm could move in by Sunday.
