CLAYTON, N.C. – The town of Clayton is seeing a rash of car break-ins.

Police say 47 break-ins have occurred within the last month.

The Clayton police chief says it’s easy to get complacent particularly in areas of low crime, such as East Village Apartments and Summerlyn neighborhoods, and forget to lock car doors.

There are currently no suspects in custody, but police ask that people with security video or information pertaining to the break-ins call them immediately.
