CEDAR POINT, N.C. – One Crystal Coast family is combining the Halloween spirit with giving back.

For every pumpkin bought at Hannah’s Hope Pumpkin Patch, 25 percent of the proceeds go towards supporting children in the area.

It’s a non-profit foundation started by Hannah’s parents after her life was taken in a car accident in 2012.

The organization sponsors local children, giving them opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities they may not be able to afford.

“Extracurricular activities builds confidence, it builds leadership,” said Hannah's Hope Founder Mary Miller. “It gives children a sense of being. We want to enrich children’s lives in our community and if we can change just one child’s life then Hannah’s Hope was founded for a reason and a purpose.”

Pumpkins purchased at Hannah’s Hope Pumpkin Patch can also be entered in a nationwide carving contest on Facebook with a $10,000 grand prize.
