RALEIGH -- The North Carolina Public House offers beer and wine for those people who want to step off the midway and wet their palette.

Fairgoers say the house has made them feel right at home.

Everything in moderation, even if you've just stuffed your face full of fried Oreos or a bacon wrapped grilled cheese sandwich.

The North Carolina State Fair's midway has a new next-door mate and it’s the public house. While not every brew's for you, some people say you must try everything at least once.

"It kind of gives you a little bit of a taste of hmm, I like that, let me see how they do that," said resident Jeremiah Pilarski.

Sold on a per ticket basis, the alcohol and the new public house reside in the Old Heritage Circle. The idea is to highlight the state’s craft beers and wines with samples serving since gates opened on Thursday.

Fawn Pattison of the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild said they have seen a lot of business since opening.

"We sold our first ticket and folks were welcomed in.  It has been steadily picking up since then," she said.

If you're wondering what one of these flights looks like, they come with four samples of either wine or beer, depending on what your taste is here at the North Carolina State Fair. Plus, you can come out and try either one at the Public House through October 22.
