Central North Carolina will continue to enjoy the sunshine and seasonable temperatures that arrived Tuesday for the rest of the week.

With cool high pressure in place, Wednesday will bring another near-average day, with highs in the 60s and 70s under clear skies and light winds out of the northeast.

By Thursday, as the core of this high pressure center pulls to the east, light winds out of the southwest will make a comeback allowing for a warming trend to take the region through the weekend.

Daytime highs will warm to about 5-10 degrees above average Friday and stay relatively warm through Saturday and Sunday.

A strong cold front currently slated to push through early next week could potentially bring a very cold air mass in its wake. However, there is still plenty of uncertainty regarding just how cold this air mass will be.
