CHARLOTTE -- Body camera footage from a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer involved shooting was released Friday.

Last week, a judge ordered CMPD to release the video connected to the death of Rueben Galindo, who was shot and killed by two officers on September 6.

Police say Galindo had told a dispatcher through a Spanish interpreter that he had an unloaded gun, but that he refused orders to drop the weapon.

Prior to the video's release, Action NC argued that the video will provide some much-needed clarity, but the district attorney's office said its release could jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation.

In the video, you can hear an officer getting close to entering the house and saying “Reuben, Reuben.” Then you hear “hands” in Spanish about four times, and telling him to drop the gun, followed by shots fired. In the video, it appears that Galindo's had his arms raised.
