MOORESVILLE -- Officials have confirmed that a missing man they were searching for earlier Thursday has been found dead in Mooresville.
40-year-old Michael Bell last made contact with his family around 5 p.m. Wednesday night. He was believed to be at risk due to unspecified health issues.
A statement to the press stated, "The outcome is not what we hoped but we thank all who assisted in the search or shared their concern for the responders and the Bell family. The investigation into the cause of his death is continuing."
Bell is said to be a former CMPD officer.
