CHARLOTTE -- UNC Charlotte just released its required annual report of crime on campus.

Students and parents will be happy to hear the number of sexual assaults on campus has dropped a lot.

According to the report, in 2014, there were 32 reported incidents of rape, but in 2015 that number dropped more than 50 percent to 12 cases.

Alcohol violations have dropped as well.

Last fall, the campus released an app called Live Safe, which allows students to contact the police department to report incidents and even track friends to make sure they are safe on campus.

Students can download the app on their Android or Apple devices.
