CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- For more than a decade, Little Village Grill has grown a village of loyal customers in Uptown Charlotte’s Fourth Ward.

  • The Little Village Grill is a popular lunch spot for folks working in Uptown.
  • It is located in Fourth Ward.
  • Their specialty is the pork gyro.

“We don’t really advertise. Everything is word of mouth. We love what we do and they appreciate that and embrace it,” said owner John Georgopoulos.

It’s a to-go favorite of the business crowd in uptown -- serving fast, cheap, and delicious Greek dishes and lunch staples. Like its specialty, the pork gyro.

“This is a concept that me and my wife came up with. We’re first born first generation from Greece. We wanted to have some Greek items that comes from our heritage and also wanted to have things we enjoy like burgers and subs,” said Georgopoulos.

Fresh and less than $5, the pork gyro at Little Village Grill is one of the most popular lunches in Charlotte.

The pork is broken down, sliced up, and marinated for 24 hours, then roasted on a pit and sliced fresh for customers. It’s grilled, covered in tzatzikii sauce, red onions, tomatoes, and topped with crispy fries.

“Because were a small place we cant store things. We have to go through it. So we keep everything very fresh.” It’s definitely the quality. I don't believe you can get the quality at the price point we have,” said Georgopoulos.
