DURHAM, N.C. - The Bull City is known for its delicious hot spots, and now they’re welcoming a new establishment to the downtown district.

Neomonde Mediterranean has been a part of the Triangle food scene for more than 40 years with locations in Raleigh and Morrisville.

This week the family-owned restaurant celebrated the grand opening of its third location in Durham.

With humble beginnings, Neomonde started as a bakery in 1977 by the Saleh family. The four brothers and their mother, Cecilia, became known for their fast-rising pita bread.

Over the years, the demand continued to build for the food Cecilia would serve in the community using her secret recipes from Lebanon.

The family opened the first restaurant location in Raleigh in 1989.

The list of customer favorites is endless.

Some of the popular items on the menu include:

  • Baba Ghanouj: A thick dip made from grilled eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic
  • Lentils and rice
  • Vegetarian lasagna
  • Pita pockets

Neomonde boasts the quality of excellence in every dish served.

Every item on the menu is made from scratch with whole ingredients and authentic family recipes.

Neomonde Durham is open daily. It’s located at 202 Corcoran Street.
