RALEIGH — They may look and even sound like Ozzy Ozbourne and Black Sabbath, but the “man” seen shredding the guitar on stage with Little Ozzy is really no man at all, at least not yet.

He’s only been playing for three years, but already Little Ozzy lead guitarist Max Frye is becoming a fan favorite on stage.

Frye sat down with Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair for a look at his budding career, just days before he performs for a home crowd at Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh.

He says he remembers watching the band he now is part of, when he was eight years old on America's Got Talent. It was then four years later than Frye decided to pick up a guitar. Now, fast forward three years and the rest is history.

The teenager quit traditional school and now studies online, traveling with the band Little Ozzy since February of this year. He says while many of the shows they play are catered more towards an older crowd, he’s been shocked to see the wide variety of people who like their music and come to their shows.

Max Frye and Little Ozzy will take the stage at Lincoln Theatre in in Raleigh this Friday, July 13 at 8 p.m. Doors open an hour prior.
