DURHAM — For the last 8 years, life was filled with treatments for Linda Duffield and, during that time, her husband Mike only missed two.

The couple fought hard, receiving regular treatments for Metastatic Breast Cancer, which ultimately look Linda’s life on Feb. 26, 2018.

Mike, however, isn’t stopping the fight. He's continuing his push to find a cure for cancer. He hopes one day it will be deemed a chronic disease and eventually wiped off the face of the planet.

The Duffields relied on funding, educational materials and research from Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle To the Coast (NCTC).  So Mike is continuing his fundraising efforts to help others in the future with their journey with the disease.

He’s hosting the fourth Rock The Cure event on Sunday, May 20 at the Blue Note Grill.  The family friendly event will feature multiple musical performances, a silent auction featuring donated items from national entertainers and athletes, a NASCAR experience for two, dining experiences, plays and even a handmade quilt. A 50/50 raffle will also take place along with an always exciting wine pull.

The fun kicks off at 3 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m.

You can show up the day of, or you can choose to donate from home. To donate to Lina’s Komen fundraising goal, use this link.
